Errata and Corrections Policy
The Journal of Leadership, Ethics, Governance, and Sustainable Innovation (JLEGSI) is committed to upholding the accuracy, credibility and integrity of the scholarly record. If errors are identified in published articles whether by authors, editors, or readers the journal ensures that they are corrected promptly and transparently, following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
Corrections are issued to address significant mistakes that may affect the clarity, understanding, or citation of the work, even if they do not alter the study’s main findings or conclusions.
- Erratum:
A correction issued by the Journal of Leadership, Ethics, Governance, and Sustainable Innovation (JLEGSI) to fix errors introduced during the editorial, copyediting, or production process (for example, incorrect author names, figure misplacement, or formatting inconsistencies). - Corrigendum:
A correction requested and initiated by the author(s) to rectify mistakes for which they are responsible (for instance, inaccurate data labels, incorrect institutional affiliations, or omitted acknowledgements). - Addendum:
A brief note published to add information or clarify content in a previously published article that does not change its interpretation or results.
Eligibility for Corrections
Corrections may be considered when:
- There are errors in data presentation (e.g., figures, tables, or graphs) that do not alter the study’s results or conclusions.
- The author’s name, order, or affiliation was incorrectly presented.
- Funding, acknowledgements, or competing interest statements were omitted.
- There are minor factual inaccuracies that could mislead readers or affect understanding.
The journal does not issue corrections for typographical or stylistic errors unless they affect meaning or cause potential confusion.
Correction Procedure
- Submission of Request
Requests for corrections should be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief via editor@jlegsi.com, clearly describing the nature of the error and the proposed amendment.
- Assessment
The Editorial Team will evaluate the request and may consult with the article’s author(s), peer reviewers, or members of the Editorial Ethics Committee to confirm the correction’s validity and impact. - Approval and Publication
Once approved, the correction will be published in the next available issue under the appropriate heading (“Erratum,” “Corrigendum,” or “Addendum”).
-
- The correction notice will be assigned its own DOI.
- A direct link between the correction notice and the original article will be provided.
- The date and nature of the correction will be clearly indicated on both versions.
- Notification
Authors and relevant stakeholders will be notified once the correction has been processed and made publicly available.
Transparency and Access
All published corrections are openly accessible to ensure transparency and accountability.
- The online version of the original article will include a prominent notice referring readers to the correction.
- The correction notice will clearly describe what has been changed, who initiated it and when it was approved.
- The original article will not be replaced or altered; rather, both versions will remain part of the public record for scholarly transparency.
